Junior Development Centre

Junior Development Centre

Recognized by Golf Canada and Golf Ontario, and loved by children and parents province-wide, The Marshes’ National Junior Golf Development Centre gives young players a clear golf development pathway. Consistent with Golf Canada’s Long-Term Player Development Guide, we offer a full range of nationally endorsed programs that foster a lifelong passion for golf, whether juniors wish to play golf recreationally or pursue a more competitive experience.

These programs are delivered by our trained and certified golf professionals and community coaches at our outstanding practice and golf facilities in Kanata, and are aimed at children aged 4-18. Our programs are also linked to schools in Kanata and beyond in order to bring the golf experience to as many children as possible.

Our programmes include:

FUTURE LINKS DRIVEN BY ACURA "LEARN TO PLAY" PROGRAM

Ages 4 to 12

The Marshes’ National Junior Golf Development Centre offers Future Links Driven by Acura “Learn to Play” programs as part of a national initiative to provide cost-effective and best-in-class programming to juniors in the Ottawa Valley. Each 6-week session includes two hours of lessons on Saturdays with instruction from PGA of Canada professionals and our qualified coaches, followed by optional play on The Marchwood golf course.

Children from 4 to 12 years old will develop their golf and life skills through an interactive curriculum covering seven “Learn to Play” modules. This program is organized in stages beginning with White followed by Orange, Blue and Black. As players attend and successfully complete their stage, they receive a coloured cap and certificate to signify this accomplishment, and then they advance to the next stage. It’s Golf Canada’s version of martial arts belts.
